After some extremely inappropriate behaviors from one of UNL's male fraternities during the Women's March on Lincoln and an incredibly rude tweet from one of our own (now former) State senators Bill Kintner, women took to the steps of the state capitol building on February 20th, 2017 to stand firm on rape culture. Speaker after speaker stood and shared their collective stories of survival, guilt, fear, and shame at the hands of a rapist and the culture surrounding their rapes. Feelings stirring in me from my own rape years ago, feelings of shame taught to me by a society that accepts men's inability to control their penises as 'ok', 'normal', and 'all part of growing up'.

Me personally, I think it's time for a culture change!!!
